Laboratory Research Service

Overview

Department of Clinical Investigation (DCI) Laboratory Research Service supports and promotes organized scientific inquiry through high quality basic science and clinical research. DCI has approximately 6000 sq. ft. of modern well equipped laboratories capable of supporting several scientific disciplines. The DCI lab has long standing collaborations with other medical departments and services within Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), as well as, US Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) to help support major research programs to include, but not limited to, oncology, infectious diseases, multi-drug resistance microbes, regenerative cell biology, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Capabilities

  • Genomics: Bioinformatics, qRT-PCR, Pyrosequencing, Gene editing
  • Proteomics: Protein purification, Circulating tumor cells, Immunoassay, In-vitro cell culture
  • Microscopy: Confocal, Inverted fluorescence, Live cell culture capture, Cytology

Our Team

Highly motivated professionals including doctoral level Senior Scientists, masters level Research Biologists, laboratory and animal technicians, Laboratory Manager and Director.

Consultation

We provide consultation on scientific and experimental design, protocol support and review, and facilitate business/finance procedures for research funding.

Sample Storage

We have refrigerator and freezer storage for clinical research specimens. Temperatures are monitored continuously ensuring sample integrity.
