General Surgery Residency Program
The General Surgery Program at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) was first certified in 1949 and has been in continuous operation since that time. The Residency Review Committee for Surgery last reviewed and accredited the program for 10 years in August 2012. BAMC residents complete training with over 1000 operative cases performed as primary surgeon. The general surgery program is a superb training program with a 98% first time oral and written boards pass rate over the last 5 years. The general surgery residency is a combined Army and Air Force program approved for 5 graduates a year.
