Emergency Medicine Residency Faculty

  • ~40-50 full-time faculty with a strong mix of clinical and academic experience and junior and senior-level rank. All are board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine.
  • We have a diverse team with varied backgrounds and experiences. Our current staff includes 5 ultrasound, 2 medical toxicology, 1 EMS, 2 pediatric EM, and 2 critical care fellowship-trained emergency physicians, 3 former BAMC ED chairs, 1 former BAMC EM residency director, and 3 former or current EM consultants to the USA and USAF Surgeons General. All provide superior clinical, operational, and administrative expertise, and when combined, expand and strengthen the academic and leadership backbone of the program and department.
  • Recent achievements include 2 chapters in Rosen's Emergency Medicine, 2 in Prehospital Systems and Medical Oversight, 6 national committee appointments at ACEP, AAEM, GCACEP and SAEM, reviewers for Annals of Emergency Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, Prehospital Emergency Care, Journal of Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine Journal, Southern Medical Journal, and Military Medicine, consulting editor for Annals of Emergency Medicine, editor on the Military Medicine board, editorial board of Academic Emergency Medicine and Presidents and Counselors of Government Services Chapter of ACEP and Special Operation Medical Association among multiple other organizations and journal affiliations.
  • Military faculty possess a wide range of operational experiences including assignments in brigade and battalion maneuver units, combat support hospitals, critical care air transport teams, EMEDS units, and special operations.
