Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Mission
To promote the optimal means of functional improvement and independence in an informative and supportive manner for patients with conditions affecting the musculoskeletal and neurologic systems.
About Us
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Service at Brooke Army Medical Center provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational/consultative services for patients whose function has declined due to medical conditions, surgical conditions, and neurologic, musculoskeletal, or pain related compromise. The outpatient consultations involve a variety of evaluation techniques, including performance of electro-diagnostic studies, and results in prescription of a variety of equipment or modalities, such as specific forms of therapy, exercise, or durable medical equipment for diagnoses commonly involving pain disorders or neuropathies. Consultations regarding inpatients are also performed and often pertain to patients who have sustained brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, or poly-trauma.
