Medication Renewals

Routine Medications

If you have refills left on your prescriptions, you can call the Pharmacy Central Refill Line at 210-292-9995 or use the pharmacy refill link on this site to send a message to the BAMC Pharmacy to refill your medication. Once your prescription has run out of refills, you will need to contact your PCM by phone or through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal Message My Provider tab and request a renewal. If you do not have an account, please register for access to the new MHS GENESIS Patient Portal at https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/identitymanagement/. PLEASE NOTE: Use a compatible browser such as Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox. Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 is no longer supported after November 30, 2020.

Your team will review your request and will communicate with you within 3 business days to let you know if your medication can be renewed without a visit. For many medications, renewals require periodic visits to your PCM and laboratory testing to monitor the effects.

Special Order Medication

Sometimes a provider may request a Special Order Medication—one that is not kept in the BAMC pharmacy but must be ordered from another source. To renew special order medications with active refills, follow the same procedures explained above, but allow at least 5 duty days for the pharmacy to process your request. To check the status of your order, call the Special Order Pharmacy at 210-916-1536, Option 3.
