The McWethy Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) provides accessible, high quality and customer focused interdisciplinary health care for active duty and soldiers training on Fort Sam Houston. The scope of comprehensive services includes readiness care, chronic and acute illness care, preventive health maintenance, health promotion and wellness, education and counseling, and specialty consultation and referral.

Hours of Operation:

6 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Sick Call for Active Duty in Training Status (students): AIT, BOLC, CCC, BCOA
    Monday - Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. (Appointments begin at 6 a.m.)
  • Active Duty on TDY status (not in Student Status) may report to the clinic, Monday – Friday beginning at 6 a.m. for sick call.
  • Reserve/Guard military members must be on active orders and must present with a copy of their orders when requesting medical care.
  • For after-hour assistance: TRICARE beneficiaries can call the Nurse Advise Line at 1-800-874-2273. Experienced nurses will provide medical advice and nurse triage 24/7 to include weekends and holidays.
  • Pharmacy: Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 3 p.m.

TRICARE beneficiaries can now sign up and log into the Virtual Education Center to get accurate medical and health information. You will have access to nearly 50,000 educational resources covering 60 medical topics from more than 230 organizations. This digital platform is accessible using any mobile device or computer with internet access and will integrate with DEERS and DMDC for a seamless experience.
