Emergency Medicine Basic Skills Course
The Basic Skills Course (BSC) is a 2 week course that consists of both didactics and hands-on training. It is an excellent introduction to emergency medicine and review of general medicine topics with an emphasis on emergency medicine. The course allows prospective EM residency candidates to interact with the BAMC EM staff and get a sense of the residency program. The Basic Skills Course is approved for 50 AAPA Category I CMEs.
The course is held annually; either at BAMC or MAMC (Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington). In 2009 the course is held at MAMC.
